Midnight Mania at MSU October 6, 2006 – Bob
Bob has canvassed private businesses and obtained several donated prizes.  
Marty stated he would provide 2 BPD officers.
Alex stated he would contact Bob if the SO can provide additional help.
Cherie stated that the MHP might also have someone available to assist.

Marketing
Report on classified ad campaign and BAC cards – Jenna
The campaign ads were high maintenance for first time.  It will be easier the next try.
BAC Cards will be provided for MIP classes and to MSU for CATAPALUZA.
Plans for Halloween mobilization: NHTSA ad ideas – Shanda
The NHTSA web page has canned items with DUI messages for Halloween.  Shanda passed around samples she had downloaded.
Susan motioned that $200 be provided to print the posters, Steve seconded, motion carried.
Postcards to businesses to remind them to plan responsible holiday parties – Jenna
Examples were passed around for review.
Matt motioned that $325 be provided to print the cards, Susan seconded, motioned carried.
MDOT signs near rivers – Jenna
EJ has not gotten back to Jenna.  No action at this time.

MADD conference report:  Marty and Jenna
Marty stated that after discussing issues with attendees he sees a real need to have a better relation between MADD and county/city DUI programs.  MADD is very supportive of programs like sobriety checkpoints that could benefit Gallatin County.  

Jenna indicated that she would see if a quarterly meeting between MADD and the Task Force could be arranged to determine what programs could be worked on jointly.

Meeting with Judge Seel – Steve
Jenna and Steve attended a meeting with Judge Steel at his request to discuss DUI issues.  MADD and Alli from Prevention attended also.  

He asked the attendees their impression of the impact of sentencing DUI offenders to the Victim Impact Panel.  He also asked about the success of programs involving MIP’s.  

Jenna stated she would like to organize a meeting with the local judiciary to discuss more issues in the future.  

Proposed changes in Bozeman ordinances related to open containers – Susan Wordal, Alli Gidley
Susan passed around a document with possible changes to the city ordinance concerning open containers on city streets during public events.  

Susan is working with City Attorney, Paul Luwe on this issue.

Marty stated that waivers to city ordinances concerning open containers present additional problems for law enforcement to maintain compliance.

Finances
Fiscal 2006 report – Full report will be presented in October.  Jenna stated the reinstatement check for $13, 950 was deposited.

New Mini-grant requests.
Cherie - MHP is requesting money for digital recorders and transcription software.  Susan moved that $1500 be granted, Matt seconded, approved.
Alex – GCSO is requesting money for 6 PBT devices.  Matt motioned that $2,352 be granted, Susan seconded, approved.
